Featherstonhaugh & McCardle, LLP is your partner in navigating the state's energy transition as directed by the New York State Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (Climate Act), the Act Scoping Plan and accompanying regulations, guidelines and future implementation actions. The Climate Act requires New York to reduce economy-wide greenhouse gas emissions 40 percent by 2030 and no less than 85 percent by 2050 from 1990 levels. The goal for the New York grid system is to achieve 100% clean, carbon-free electricity by 2040. For energy users, regulated sectors of the economy and private businesses, the path forward can look extremely challenging. FM’s work includes bringing together energy industry stakeholders with government policymakers to formulate strategies to not only meet these challenges but also find opportunities to thrive in the new low-carbon economy.
